Mercedes Recreation Center Aquatics Programs

The Mercedes Recreation Center offers a variety of aquatic programs and services for all ages, including public swimming, swimming lessons, and pool party rentals.

Public Pool Hours

Our public pool season begins on Wednesday, June 11th, and runs until Saturday, August 9th.

• Wednesday & Friday: 3:00 PM - 6:00 PM
• Saturday: 1:00 PM - 5:00 PM

Swimming Lessons

Improve your swimming skills with our structured swimming lessons, taught by Pool Manager Lee Puckett. Each session costs $40 per participant.

• Session 1: June 11th - 27th
  • Ages 6 months - 3 years: Water Babies
  • Ages 3 years - 6 years: Non-swimmers to Beginners
• Session 2: July 2nd - 18th
  • Ages 6 months - 3 years: Water Babies
  • Ages 6 years - 12 years: Beginners to Intermediate

Class sessions will be held Wednesday - Friday from 6:00 PM - 7:00 PM. Swimmers must bring a swim suit/towel and sunblock.

Pool Party Rentals

Host your next event at the Mercedes Recreation Center pool! We offer 2-hour pool party rentals for $275.

• Booking Details:

  • Bookings for June 2nd, 2025, and onwards will be handled at the Rec Center, 701 Mathis, from 4:00 PM - 8:00 PM.
  • Payment for pool party rentals must be a MONEY ORDER PAYABLE TO CITY OF MERCEDES. NO CHECKS OR CASH WILL BE ACCEPTED.
  • A $75.00 deposit is required to reserve and hold the date, and this must be a separate money order from the full payment.
  • Full payment must be submitted to the Recreation Center prior to the pool party during normal work week hours (Monday - Friday).
  • Additional rental hours are available upon request for $125 per additional hour.
  • Party host is allowed 15 minutes prior to the party to set-up. An additional fee of $50.00 per hour will apply if more time is needed for set-up.
  • Please allow 3 days' notice prior to booking a party. First Come - First Serve. Parties will not be booked the same day as the party.
  • All bookings must be made in person.

• Party Booking Times (2-hour parties):

  • Saturday: 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM
  • Sunday: 3:00 PM - 5:00 PM or 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM

To book a party in person at the Dome Center, visit between 2:00 PM - 6:00 PM, Monday - Friday. The Dome Center is located at 1202 N. Vermont.
